The energies of mindfulness, concentration and insight can liberate us from our anxiety and worries. We let go of the past and the future, and come in touch with the wonders of the present.

Mindfulness-Informed Psychotherapy & Somatic Psychology: Healing Within a Genuine and Trusting Relationship

In my counseling work I weave somatic, body-based psychology, Eastern philosophy, and holistic mindfulness and movement practices together to help you access your inner wisdom and innate healing potential. This approach moves beyond traditional treatment for anxiety and depression. Because all parts of our being are interdependent, I work with your whole self—mind, body, spirit, and heart—to help you:

  • Connect more deeply to your body and emotions in a safe way

  • Heal and integrate childhood attachment wounds

  • Restore personal growth and forward movement after traumatic life experiences

  • Decrease anxiety and improve relationships

  • Increase emotional balance, strength, and resilience

What roadblocks have you encountered on your healing journey? You and I will get to know each other,  develop trust, and work together to create an approach that works for you.

Here’s something I want everyone to know: Counseling isn't just for people who are struggling. This is creative work that goes beyond treatment for depression or anxiety. It can also be a resource for people who want to make their good lives even better. You may be exploring or expanding your self-identity, creating a plan to reach your full potential, or finding yourself in a position to start on a new and challenging path. Whether you're hoping to change a destructive old habit or start a fresh new phase of life, the encouragement and feedback you receive in one-on-one counseling sessions can keep you moving toward ease and wellness. Mindfulness-informed therapy can play a positive role in your journey towards a better life.

Here are some subjects my clients and I have explored through mindfulness-informed therapy:

  • Moving forward and re-discovering oneself after divorce

  • Navigating stage-of-life transitions such as retirement or parenthood

  • Creating individualized anxiety and depression treatments that incorporate movement and mindfulness practices

  • Learning to listen to and trust one’s own inner voice

  • Exploring the effect of childhood emotional wounds on current behaviors

  • Healing past traumas with EMDR therapy and recovering emotional resilience

What makes this work so special to me is that each individual’s journey toward wellness and ease is unique. Let’s take the next step together.
