Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance. A few reasons for this are:
Insurance companies require that I label you with a diagnosis. This diagnosis and other personal details about you will stay on your medical record for life. The fact is, most of the challenges we face in life just don’t fit into a one-size-fits all category.
Insurance companies can dictate the type of therapy you get and how many sessions you are allowed to have. These are highly personal decisions that should happen between the therapist and client.
Because I see only self-pay clients, I can spend more time with each client and focus on building our relationship and taking the time we need to do this important work together.
What are your rates?
Individual 50-minute therapy session: $150
Do you offer online therapy / TeleTherapy / video counseling?
Yes! Although face-to-face therapy is the gold standard, I understand that some individuals have legitimate reasons for being unable to attend in-person sessions. Learn more about my TeleHealth offerings here.
How long will I be in therapy?
It depends on you. Some people arrive with very specific goals and we work at a pace that feels comfortable to find solutions. Other folks want to explore a broad range of feelings and experiences over a longer period of time.
How often will I have to see you?
I find that growth and healing happen best when we meet every one or two weeks for 50-minute sessions.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Please be sure to cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being billed for the session.
Are you a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals?
